Plastic Bottle Cap Injection Molding Machine
Quick answer: This range covers injection moulding machines for the containers and closures a beverage or food packer uses: PET preform machines, bottle cap machines and general plastic moulding machines. Choose by the part you need to make, the shot weight and cavity count the mould requires, and the clamping force that mould and resin demand.

Decide first what you will mould. PET preforms for blow-moulded bottles need a machine built for PET, which is dried before moulding and processed at higher temperatures; the Preform Injection Molding Machine and the Injection Molding Machine for PET preform belong here. Screw caps and closures are usually moulded from polyolefins at high speed in multi-cavity moulds, which is the job of the Bottle Cap Injection Molding Machine and Plastic Bottle Cap Injection Molding Machine. Crates, buckets, tubs and technical parts use a general-purpose machine such as the Injection Molding Machine of Plastic.
Then size the machine to the mould, not the other way round. The mould's projected area and the resin set the clamping force; the part weight times cavities sets the shot size; the mould dimensions must fit between the tie bars with enough opening stroke to eject the part. If you do not yet have a mould, decide the part design and cavity count with your mould maker first, then choose the machine. Energy-saving drives, which vary pump output with load, are worth considering for continuous cap and preform production.
Compare clamping force, shot weight or injection volume for your resin, screw diameter and L/D ratio, injection pressure, distance between tie bars, mould thickness range, opening stroke, dry cycle time, installed heater and motor power, and the number of stored mould settings (one cap model lists 120). For PET, check that the screw and barrel are designed for PET and that a dryer and dehumidifier are included or specified.
Ask for electrical safety and guarding documentation suited to your market, including interlocked safety gates. Request a test moulding report with your mould or a comparable one, showing cycle time and part weight consistency. If preforms or caps will contact beverages, confirm with your resin and mould supplier that materials meet the food-contact rules in your market; the machine itself does not certify this.
Buyers are bottled water and soft drink producers who want to make their own preforms and caps instead of buying them, packaging converters supplying several bottlers, edible oil and dairy companies moulding closures, and plastics workshops making household and industrial items. Water bottlers often buy a preform machine alongside a blow moulder and filling line to control container supply.
Purchases are usually direct, with the buyer specifying the part and mould, or comparing machine and mould offers as a package.
An injection moulding machine cannot produce anything without a mould, and most also need auxiliaries: a resin dryer for PET, a chiller for mould cooling, a hopper loader and often a robot or conveyor for part removal. Budget for all of these together. The mould is frequently the most expensive and longest lead-time item, so order it early and make sure its dimensions, ejection system and cooling connections match the chosen machine.
Cap and preform machines often run around the clock, so electricity is a major running cost. Machines with variable-output pump drives use less energy at part load than fixed pumps, and well-insulated barrel heaters reduce heat loss. Ask for the installed power and an estimate of consumption per kilogram of moulded resin, and compare machines on that basis rather than purchase price alone.
Generally not efficiently. Preforms need PET-specific screw design, higher processing temperatures and a resin dryer, while caps are made from polyolefins in fast, high-cavity moulds. Specify the part you will make most and choose the machine designed for it.
Not by default. Moulds are specific to your bottle neck finish, cap design or product, so they are quoted separately. We can quote a mould with the machine if you send the part drawing or a sample, and we will check the mould fits the machine.
Clamping force depends on the projected area of all cavities and the pressure the resin needs to fill them. Your mould maker can calculate it from the part design. As a rule, choose a machine with some margin above the calculated figure rather than one running at its limit.
Most need three-phase power, cooling water for the hydraulic oil and mould, and compressed air for some functions. A chiller or cooling tower is usually required. PET preform production also needs a dryer. Ask for the full utility list for the model you choose.
Send us a drawing or sample of the part to be moulded, the resin type, the required output per hour or per day, the number of cavities if a mould already exists with its dimensions, and your power supply. Say whether you need the mould and auxiliaries quoted too.
