An automatic road block â a powered rising barrier or blocker that closes a vehicle route on command, used at site entrances, military and government gates, car park access and secure perimeters.
The distinction to be clear about is between an access control barrier and a hostile vehicle mitigation blocker. The first manages authorised traffic and will not stop a determined vehicle; the second is engineered to arrest one, is certified against an impact standard, and costs several times as much.
