Traffic Protection covers the passive protection fitted around roads, sites and buildings: crash cushions and impact attenuators, guardrail and crash barrier systems with end terminals, column and corner guards, rubber kerbing and wheel stops, safety mirrors, anti-glare screens, and high-visibility and reflective equipment for road workers.
Passive protection works by absorbing or redirecting an impact that has already happened, which is a different design problem from preventing access. Crash cushions in particular are specified against a stated impact severity level and have to be installed with the clearances and foundations they were tested with, because a correctly chosen attenuator installed wrongly does not perform as certified. Reflectivity grade on signs and clothing is the other commonly under-specified item, and it degrades with age.
Protection equipment is tendered by roads and highways authorities, public works and transport ministries, municipal corporations and urban local bodies, port and airport authorities, railways, industrial estates and plant operators, car park and facilities operators, and road safety projects financed by development banks and bilateral funds. We respond to the specification as written and supply impact test documentation where applicable, installation and foundation requirements, reflectivity grades, dimensional drawings, make and origin declarations and pre-shipment inspection.
Send us your application, the standard you work to and your quantities, and we will quote against the specification.
