Agro Rice Destoner covers destoning equipment that removes stones, mud balls and dense foreign matter from paddy or rice by separating on density, usually on an inclined vibrating deck with an air stream. Destoning is placed before hulling and whitening for a simple reason: a stone reaching a huller or whitener damages the rolls and screens, and a stone reaching the consumer damages the brand far more.
Separation works on the small density difference between grain and stone, which means the air setting and deck inclination are the critical adjustments and both shift with grain moisture. A destoner set once and left will drift out of correct separation as the crop and the season change. Capacity is specified against the mill it serves rather than in isolation, since a destoner that cannot keep up becomes the limit on the whole line.
Destoners are tendered as part of rice mill packages and separately as upgrades when a mill is asked to meet a grade specification. Agriculture ministries, food reserve and marketing boards, rice development programmes, co-operative and state mills, food corporations, and agro-industrial projects financed through development bank programmes procure them through bidding. We price against the specification as issued and include capacity and separation efficiency figures, origin and warranty declarations, priced spares and screen lists and inspection arrangements.
Tell us your mill throughput and your incoming paddy quality, and we will size the destoner and quote it.
