Sizing is where buyers most often go wrong, because quoted daily production assumes a reasonable ambient temperature and cool incoming water, and a machine in a hot kitchen fed warm supply water will produce noticeably less than its rating, on exactly the day the most ice is needed. Specify with headroom, and size the storage bin against the peak demand period rather than the daily total. Water quality affects both cube clarity and machine life, so a filter is part of the installation.
