A fish feed pellet mill using a die and rollers to compress conditioned meal into pellets. The pellet mill is the established route for sinking aquatic feed and for livestock feed, and runs at a lower cost per tonne than an extruder.
Where floating feed is not required, a pellet mill is usually the more economical choice, both in capital cost and in energy per tonne produced. Pellet diameter is changed by changing the die.
