A fish food extruder producing expanded floating feed. The mix is cooked under heat and pressure in the barrel and expands on leaving the die, giving a light pellet that floats and holds together on the water surface.

Extrusion also cooks the starch in the formulation, improving digestibility and reducing the proportion that passes through the fish uneaten to settle on the pond bottom. Pellet size is set by the die. The extruder sits at the centre of a line, with grinding and mixing before and drying and coating after. Contact us for die sizes and line requirements.
