A poultry feed machine producing compound rations for chickens, ducks and other poultry. Pelleting or crumbling the ration stops birds picking out the grain and leaving the balance of the formulation behind.

Selective feeding is a real cost on a poultry unit: the birds get an unbalanced ration and the remainder is wasted around the feeder. A pellet carrying the full formulation in every piece addresses both. Particle size is changed by die, covering chick crumb through to finisher pellet.
