A floating fish feed extruder producing expanded pellets that remain at the water surface. Cooking and expansion take place in the extruder barrel, and the pellet sets as it leaves the die and the pressure drops.

The degree of expansion controls how long the pellet floats, and it is adjusted through moisture, temperature and screw configuration rather than being fixed by the machine. That adjustability is what allows one extruder to serve several species and feeding habits. Contact us to discuss the settings and die sizes suited to the feeds you intend to produce.

It is well used in pet food and aquaculture fish feed industries, especially for massive productions with low starch content and high percentage of protein and fat, to realize a wide variety of sizes and shapes of final products.
