Nut Shell and Kernel Separating Machine
A nut shell and kernel separating machine that divides the mixed output of a cracker into clean kernel and shell fractions, usually by a combination of air separation and screening.
Separation is what determines whether the shelling section delivers a saleable kernel or a mixture somebody has to hand-pick. Shell fragments are lighter than kernel but overlap with small kernel pieces in weight, which is why separation works best when the feed is pre-graded by size so each band can be separated at its own air setting. The machine fits between the cracker and the grading stage of a shelling line. Contact us with the nut you are processing and your cracker output and we will specify the separation arrangement.
