An explosive detection kit is a field test set: reagents applied to a swab that change colour in the presence of particular explosive groups. Its value is that it works anywhere, needs no power and gives a result in under a minute, which is why it is carried by teams who may be a long way from any instrument. Kit composition is built to what the buyer needs to screen for, and quoted against a tender's own schedule of substances.
