A 5 m³ garbage compactor truck is a residential collection vehicle for narrow streets and small routes. The compaction body is what distinguishes it from a plain tipper: waste is compressed as it is loaded, so the vehicle carries several times its uncompressed volume before it has to run to a transfer station.
