A 75 tonne crawler crane works on tracks rather than outriggers, which means it can travel with a load suspended and operates on prepared ground without setting up at each position. On a piling job or a long structure that removes most of the standing time a truck crane would incur. The trade-off is transport: a crawler arrives dismantled and is assembled on site. Configuration follows the work programme and is fixed before manufacture.
