An 8 tonne full hydraulic tandem roller covers highway surfacing at full lane width. At this weight the machine compacts binder and base course as well as wearing course, so one roller can follow the paver through the whole layer sequence rather than being swapped out. Hydrostatic drive on both drums gives the controlled acceleration that prevents shoving on a hot mat. Build is to the specification supplied.
