A pyramid tea bag machine that additionally wraps each bag in its own envelope, running at 40 to 50 bags per minute. Pyramid bags are formed 50 to 80 mm long from food grade non-woven or nylon filter material, at a dosage of 5 to 40 cm³. The individual envelope is what this machine adds over a plain pyramid line, and it addresses the weakness of the format. A pyramid bag is porous by design, which is what makes it brew well and also what lets aroma escape and moisture in during storage; sealing each one in a heat-sealable laminate holds the tea at the condition it was packed in. It handles non-viscid granule materials generally, including green tea, black tea, health care products and spices. Envelopes are made from plastic/PE or plastic/foil/PE laminates, sized 80 to 110 mm high by 85 to 125 mm wide, from material rolls of 160 to 220 mm. Packing material for the pyramid itself runs 120 to 180 mm wide. The machine draws 2 kW, needs air at 0.4 to 0.6 MPa consuming 200 litres per minute, and measures 1,960 by 1,110 by 2,390 mm.
